It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout.
A leading manufacturing company, with operations ranging from production to retail in a global market, needed a fast and dynamic tool to analyse and monitor the prices of its products.
The Pricing team, until then, could only access price lists via predefined reports in SAP, with the ability to check prices per SKU but no tools for global analysis or cross-sectional comparisons. In addition, they had to handle data requests from subsidiaries and the market strategy team, which increased the workload related to data extraction and preparation.
We developed a dashboarding system based on Qlik designed to give users easy and immediate access to the data, integrated with advanced reporting using SAP Business Objects to enable more detailed analysis for the Pricing team.
The data model was enriched by integrating various product master attributes from the PLM system. This made possible a more in-depth analysis of pricing trends in relation to new material characteristics, shapes and designs of the product sold. The market analysis perspective, originally based on SAP sales organisations, was extended with new geographic and organisational classifications that allowed the introduction of an advanced profiling and segmentation system, improving the visibility of data according to user needs.
The basis of the solution is SAP HANA Data Warehouse, capable of processing millions of data from SAP lists. This database functions as a common source for all reporting tools, providing real-time analysis and a unified view of prices globally.
The implementation of these Business Intelligence tools enabled users to:
Carry out dynamic and interactive analyses of price trends and comparisons in different geographical areas.
Access price lists in an intuitive and consistent way, ensuring security and controlled visibility for each user, both in central offices and branches.
Ensure consistency and correct positioning of products in different markets.
